Competitive Team Play Bocce Leagues are
scheduled for the winter season. Teams are formed in November, practice or
play preseason games in December, and play a set of scheduled league
games in January and February with a play-off tournament in
March. A Bocce Fun Day is held between the league play and the
tournament. An Awards Luncheon is held after the tournament.
Team players or substitutes in league play must be Lexington Country Club Members
or Rental Members (renters with membership transferred to them) and in residence here the
months of January, February, and March. Currently a
small fee per league for each team member is charged for League play to
cover incidental expenses and awards.
Previous year league participants have the following priorities to go on a
team the next year: team players
have first priority; Temporary Inactive players
have second priority; waiting list/substitutes have third priority. New players and rental
members are initially placed on the substitute/waiting list to be placed on a team if an
opening becomes available.
Also, the
Leagues Committee may select players for teams to compete against
other clubs in leagues, tournaments, or other special matches.
